Hello.
I own a well beaten '81 AR-300.
The guitar sounds really goos and itīs usuable through a Fender Pro.There is some gold rods missing (the ones who support the cloud tailpiece). It has a non original pot(ner MIJ one).I was thinking about:

1-Replacing Super '58s pickups whith something like a Wolfetone Dr. V or Seth Lover/Classic ī57. I like tri-sound however and not sure if this pickups would work well with this system.
Or maybe rewind the originals to keep the value

2-Getting new golden rods(NOS prefeable, but new would be OK id fit).

3-As far as the backs is beat and there are some areas where finish is left I was wondering about a refin' in nitro(poliuretane finish seems very thick).CS is stock finish.

4-Getting an Ibanez case (NOS prefeareable but not sure if any avalaible).

The guitar sounds really good as is and I donīt want to ruin that. Please give some tuition about this.

Thanks in advance.

well, tone is subjective. i'd keep the tri-sounds.
i'm clueless as to "the golden rods" my 2617's cloud is held on with 3 screws into the body. an artist case, you can get from a dealer. you must not be in the states as nitro is banned here. i think the original finish is poly. besides a well used piece has character.
