Author Message   Cmangeot Username: Cmangeot Registered: 4-2005 Posted on Thursday, July 19, 2007 - 8:48 am:    I have removed 95% of the pickup and epoxy from one of the covers of a super 77. Jim Donahue has given me the correct epoxy to refill the pickup cover once i decide on a replacement. Now the hard part..... What pickup do i put in its place??? A bandmate insists on Dimarzio Evolutions...I am not so sure about that. I think something different. That guitar is ash on mahogany if I remember correctly. Let the tone gurus weigh in. I really don't know how similar or different they are, however, I can say that my MC550 with Super 88's sounded very different than my 2619/AR300 with Super 80's. Of course, they were very different guitars... Can anyone compare 70's vs 77's and 80's vs 88's??? mk
