It can be done...and would be pretty easy.

I did it with a 2710. Check the thread "OK, I bought the 2710". It chronicles the progress.

i am thinking about buying it, and stealing the pickups and truss rod cover. Still cant find any pickups.

I would contact these guys and see if they have any. They frequently sell nice vintage Ibanez items (at a premium) and I thought they had some Super 88's earlier this year.

If you want one, why not go for the best!!! It could be a good project though.

Great guitars.... I sure wish i could use my 2710... Still working on replacing the pickups.

I wonder if they are microphonic????

It figures these come around right after I spend 2 weeks carefully digging the others out of their shells.

I might have to go for it. Although I am suspect since they have been removed, that they are microphonic already... unless the ohm readings can tell you whether they are OK???

Does anyone know?
