And I was wondering if you guys could help. For a start, am I right in believing mine is a 1970s model? The model number is: I810674 and it was made in Japan. I have included a picture in my post, I hope it is not of too poor quality. Sorry, the serial number indicates that your Blazer was made in Sept. 1981. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but your's doesn't look like it has a tremolo, so it would be a BL300. If it does have a trem, then it's a BL350. In either case, here's specs: Body: Ash Scale: 25.5" Pickups: Blazer SB Hardware: Nichrome/Brass Controls: Vol., Tone, 5-position selector, Phase switch. Finish: NT (Natural) The general consensus is that these were "Strat-killers". I saw one at a guitar show a couple of weeks ago. Here's a picture of ICW member, IbanezFreak, holding it: The tag says it's a Jan. 1981 model. They wanted $299.00 for it, with a gigbag. It had a couple inch gash under the bridge. No my bridge does not have a tremelo, I'm not sure if it is the original bridge. The phase switch on mine is not wired up correctly, 2 of the positions are the same, they allow the guitar to work, the 3rd position is basically currently a cut-off switch. What did the original switch do? I do most definitely prefer this guitar to any Strat I've played. Luckily mine has no splits or cracks, just a few scratches on the back. Which is almost inevitable being second hand and over 20 years old. Mine has 'Ibanez Smooth Tuner' machine heads on it, but they look quite different to the ones pictured? What is your own opinion on these guitars? In comparison to other Ibanez's of the same price and in guitars in general?   Adstar Username: Adstar Registered: 1-2007 Posted on Friday, August 03, 2007 - 3:45 pm:    I have an '81 blazer too, and I have to say I quite like it, its got a great neck! Soundwise it has a lot of possibilities and the pups sound quite good and defined, the only probem I have is it detunes fast (but I have the tremelo model (I'm still looking for a non tremelo model though)). I got mine for €150, a nice deal if you ask me.   Tim Username: Tim Registered: 7-2007 Posted on Friday, August 03, 2007 - 5:19 pm:    Ah mine stays in tune for quite a while, the machine heads on it are so nice. And because the bridge is just locked in place with no tremelo, there don't seem to be any major tuning issues. You're right though, the neck is lovely.
