Congrats.

Sniped??!!

MK...your cruizin' for a verbal abuzin'!

How the &@#* do you get sniped on an axe like that in A+ condition at $six and change.

Sniped would happen somewhere around $nine AND no, that is not subjective.

Anyway, you really DO suck at eBay

Actually, I'm quite pleased with my eBay success.

I wasn't willing to bid more because if my 'new' AR500 lived up to expectations, I would have no need for the 2618. Yes - I agree - the winner got a great deal. Where was your bid???

I was watching that one as well but let it go once it got above 500. For me, there are two things that cause concern. 1) finish cracks on the binding and 2) the hair line finish crack on the top that the seller "shot a little glue into". I know you can see the crack in the photo, and it doesn't look all that bad, but I certainly didn't like the sound of "shot a little glue into it"...

MK...that criteria puts you in the "sniffer" category...which is way short of the snipe range ;
Glad to hear you're in love!
Me, I'm off the market as Dave has warned me a while back that his "obsession" began innocently enough when he first started.

The finish checks sound like just that - surface coat only and not thru the binding and breaking apart.

Anyway, she seems like a real gem to me...first draft hangtags and all.
