Greeting fellow Ibaneezers...I'm back!
Forgive me it has been 2 years since my last post...Actually I upped sticks and moved to Bangkok....
Anyway, so this American guy is about to leave and puts the word out about an Ar100AV built January 1980 he wants to sell...
I'm playing in an all Brit UK punk band here and my Antoria Thinline tele wonderful as it is has limitations..So I do my research here and go see the guy....I've ended up buying the guitar today (ok so there's a wee 2mm ding out the top, it's missing the top (and ring) of the pup selector switch and one of the brass screw tightening gubbins thingy is missing of the G tuning peg (know where I can get one?)...ANYWAY..I digress again..I just wanted to help out with transition anomalys that bug you guys so....Pups are the bobin V2 types (uncovered), hardware is gold (fading fast) with slatted gibralter cloud and bridge thingy and fingerboard is dot neck rosewood, neck is 22 frets and I think the body is one of the thinner 475 MM ones (can you believe I don't have a ruler)..It's WAY lighter than the 83 artist my old bandmate had in Glasgow.....I've cleared 20 years of grime and filth off it, given the pots a dose of the old WD40, put lemonoil on the fretboard and stuck a new set of strings on it....WOW WOW WOW...what a stunning guitar.....I know, pix,pix pix....I'm off to Hanoi for a long weekend tomorrow (Thai queenies birthday.holiday weekend) so I'll do it when I get back.....You guys think 615 US dollars was too much?

Oh,
And the control cavity at the back appears to mimic the shape of the 70's one..minus the "people of Ibanez Japan" testimonial..when did they start putting that one there?

No transistion anomalies here: First run AR100s had V2s...'pride' stamp pre-dates yours by a couple years...axe is worth to you what you paid.

Not WAAAYY lighter either...maybe .5 to .75 lbs (you convert it)...but I digress

As it happens ..my work has a "fat-fighters club" (ooh yes Saturday weigh ins and everything...........FOR BEER!) going on so i'll weigh it in and measure it on it's way to rehearsal next wed, Strings if the "pride" stamp pre-dates mine..why have i seen it both on and off earlier and later models..or was it specifically for the more exotic lines....
Pix will follow...there appears to be a rather intertesting "tongue" and neck join at the 18th fret......
Hanoi is FAB by the way......

Ok, so I measured the body thickness at different points on the guitar and it's just a shade over 4cm thick..which leads me to assume old stock brought over into 1980....Will weigh it in this afternoon....That's if anyone is interested...
