I was in the Kirkland, WA Guitar Center yesterday, walking around, looking at the guitars, when I spied this little lady in a floor display (sorry, no picture) tucked between a vintage Fender Champ and an old lap steel. It had a price tag of $799, so too much to snag, but I felt so sorry for her. Literally the best playing guitar in the whole dang store, but sorely in need of a good setup and cleaning. Those Guitar Center sales hacks know NOTHING! (They had it labeled as an AR100 too, but I was in no mood to correct them.)

My buddy got an original B.C. Rich (American made, early '80's) Mockingbird for $240 from a G.C. here in NY not too long ago because they didn't know what they were doing. So.... Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! They called my Scruggs an "Artist" as well. It was in L.A. So that's GC's in Washington, L.A. and N.Y. with some whacky stuff going on.

This G.C. in Kirkland is the same store that was selling an "Ibanez" Les Paul copy for $999 until I convinced them it was not an Ibanez (despite what their "expert" had told them). They still have it on the floor for $999, but now call it just a "Vintage Lawsuit" LP. $999 for that vs. $799 for the AR50 (which is less than 10 ft away from it). Sheesh.

I saw that 1980 "AR100" some months ago. They definately plan on keeping her for a while at 799. As for me... every time I go in there I make a point of picking her up and and playing her for a while. So say hi if you see some old dude playin Stairway on that axe the next time your in there.
