Why is it that I can't find an MC 400 NT no matter how hard I look? Are they that rare? I haven't found one (except for the one that had a natural headstock). Surely there must be someone out there that would part with theirs!!

What do I have to do to get one???

Patience, Grasshopper. I spent 10 years looking for replacement RS1400.

Mitch, post in the free classifieds section here on ICW, did you try that? And, if you're after an mc400... why not just get an mc500 instead? They also pop up from time to time.

Bob, I have posted on the classified section. I want an MC400 because of sentimental reasons. It was my main guitar during my years as a professional musician and I sold mine right after I quit the band because I needed money and now I regret letting go. As you know, it is nearly impossible to find a perfect guitar. Some come very close (for me, PRS) but my memories of the 400 are that it was as perfect for me as they come (at least the playablility). Maybe my memories are clouded by nostalgia a bit... I surely was a much better player then as well. Are there any other places to look besides EBay, and GBase?

Saw one here in Cincinnati last month at a guitar show. Natural headstock. Pretty. $1000.00. Too much.

Sorry Mitch - you were like two weeks too late when I let mine go on eBay. It was a fantastic guitar... They turn up from time to time, just be patient. A watched pot never boils.

Mitch, I feel your pain. However, I simultaneously hope you find one AND hope that they are extremely rare, because I want mine to go up in value. In my mind, they're worth what the 2622's or 2630's are worth, at the very least. $1,000 is too much? No! $1,500 is too little!

Brent, what did yours go for? Wasn't it something like $1,100?

-Chuck

I would think $1000 is reasonable. Pretty decent actually.

Yeah, sadly, I parted ways with her. I think the auction closed for about $1100. Thanks to that and my Hohner Prinz (and a couple other guitar sales), I now have a 1959 Fender Bandmaster.
