I count 22 frets, so it's an MC900DS. (I have the NT version of this bass and it is my favorite bass.) I emailed the seller to let him know it's not a 1974 either. I paid $850 for mine, but I was enthusiastic. It's probably worth around $700-800 judging by the prices for similar basses lately. Actually, I may bid on it just to see if he's got a reserve on it. I could fancy a DS twin for my NT. Maybe. (Well, the reserve is more than $300, we know that much.)

I agree. I think the BIN is quite high. I didn't pay even half of that for my MC-980 and I bought it from a music store.

It sure does look to be in very nice shape though (the back plates look very clean in the pics) and I love the MC series bases (I own four total including the 8-string).
