Very cool guitar. Those pickups look like the same ones that was used in my Roland GS-500. I know Ibanez and Greco made guitars for Roland. Are the knobs original on that Iceman?
Here's a pic of the pickup in my GS-500. This is the only pic I have at the moment, it's from the store I bought it from online.

Patrick, yes they are the original knobs. on the Iceman.
So have you bought just the guitar or did the deal come with the console as well.
So now you'll have to figure out how to do the guitar riff from Hot Chocolate...Everyones a winner baby ! I think from memory this is the first song that used this Ibanez / Roland system.

I like the Iceman and with my secret connections in the US (off forum that is) I would have had a punt on it. Having just coughed up for a very nice PF300 in natural.... I'll pass.

Hi Captain Ibanez,
The deal did come with the console as well. I love the old Roland gear and old synthesizers in general. I'll have to give that song a listen as I'm not familiar with it. I know Mike Rutherford used it on 'Follow You Follow Me' and Alex Lifeson used it on Hemispheres. It's a cool guitar, but the tracking isn't as fast as my GR-300.
Here's a pic of the GR-500 console I got with the deal as well as the monsterous 24 pin cable. It also came in the original box...

I've thought of adding Alex Lifeson to the Artist Appreciation section. He's never been what I'd consider one of the great guitarists of our time, but I have always thought of him as one of the hardest working. His skills improved with every album Rush put out in the '70s, and Hemispheres was possibly the peak of his original style.

Saw him at the Rush Concert in Montreal 2 weeks ago. Anyone who's able to pull his weight alongside Geddy Lee and Neil Peart is pretty good in my books too. 
They sounded amazing and they started the show with ''LimeLight'' |

I totaly agree!! i saw RUSH in 1979. It was just before Moving Pictures came out and they did like half the songs from that album at the show. That concert Blew my 12 year old mind!! i was never the same after that... thank you RUSH... |
