Pretty good 2681 Weir

Can someone gimme a sound comparison between the 2671 and the Weir?   Guitarwhisperer Username: Guitarwhisperer Registered: 6-2007 Posted on Thursday, September 27, 2007 - 8:39 am:    My two 2617's and my bob weir all sound nearly identical, full and clear, with good definition between the notes, great for noodling and complex chords. There are subtle differences between them, one is slightly bassier, another is slightly brighter, but the same basic sound. I can't imagine that a Scruggs would be much different, considering that the 2617, 2671, and the 2681 are all basically the same build, just slightly diffrent shapes. However, the single-cut version has more wood surrounding the neck, I've heard that makes it fuller, although my Les Paul doesn't sound fuller than my Ibanezes, but it does sound different. This could also be attributed to the wood choice, mahogany neck and body, as well as the pickups. Based on my three ash/maple/flying fingers guitars, that first one on this thread should be bright, full, and clear. The other one without the brass sustain block would probably sound closer to a Les Paul, just slightly brighter due to the maple neck (maybe).   Michaelkaufman Username: Michaelkaufman Registered: 11-2002 Posted on Thursday, September 27, 2007 - 9:24 am:    I loved my 2680, however, it was bass heavy - way too much on the low end. It could have been an issue with the guitar. It was also neck heavy, typical of the 2680/2681.
