Ibanez iceman

A friend of mine just find an Iceman from september 79 (serial : I79....), it's black and as i'm mostly into archtops i can't really say more about it ... i think the reference is IC400 but i'm not sure ??? They made them in white (IC100WH). All others were setneck and they were Brown Sunburst (IC200 & IC210), Korina (IC300) and Midnight Olive or Antique Violin (IC400). I don't think that Ibanez had that kind of relationship with DiMarzio at that time (I could be wrong though!). When I bought my '78, it had been fitted with DiMarzio's, and they looked as though they'd been on there for quite sometime, however, if they are Distortion's or similar, they could well have been an early/mid 80's fitting, as the DiMarzio Distortions were popular at that time.   Mortished Username: Mortished Registered: 04-2005 Posted on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 - 9:14 am:    Thank you Skybone ! there is something a bit surprising at the back of the guitar : the plastic cover behind the 3 way selector is white, the other one is black; is this normal ???   Skybone Username: Skybone Registered: 03-2001 Posted on Friday, April 22, 2005 - 10:33 pm:    I think so, both my IC200 & my '80 IC50 both have 2 ply electrics covers (pots & switch), though the IC200 has shielding "tape" on the inside of the "pot" cover where the IC50 doesn't.   Mortished Username: Mortished Registered: 04-2005 Posted on Monday, April 25, 2005 - 3:59 pm:    ok ! thank you for the info !
