A Beautiful PF400 for Sure, but Over ...

Korina V's, which were selling at $700 a few months ago are over $1,000. This PF400, which I would have priced around $500 (liberally) is over $800. The 2350 LP clones are going north of $500. It seems 1970's Artists (semi and solid) are permanently above $1,500. The Cowboys, Scruggs, and Custom Agents are out of site. And then there are those dang Korina Destroyers going north of $2,500. You could say they are a single cut version of the Artist. A PF400 with its solid maple cap is definitely worth that kind of money, if not more these days. I guess the trick is (sometimes) ask far too much (1000) and let go with "discount" and you get 800 for a guitar that is worth 400. Apparently some music stores give high quatations of customers' old guitars to make it easier to sell new to them. They don't take the old guitar as partial payment but promise to try to sell it on behalf of the customer. I think that $800 for a PF400 in very good to excellent condition is not out of line considering the quality and rarity of this model (PF300s are much more common). The PF400 is on my "I'd love to have one" list. (Have you seen the pictures of Munch's?) But considering I'd like one in as close to mint condition as possible and the rising prices, it's looking farther down the road than I want. And there are other beautiful Ibanez guitars out there higher on my list.
