Hi all,
Just wanted to show off my Artist 2616.
I've had it for about 10 years now... picked it up in Sydney, Australia.
The condition is pretty good but as you'd guess, the plating has largely worn off the hardware.
Interestingly it has a brass nut... can anyone tell me if that is original (I'm assuming it is for the moment).
I have flat wound strings on it for that sweet jazz sound. It plays really beautifully.

Enjoy.

Rob:

That's a gorgeous guitar! Love that flame maple and those star inlays.

The brass nut doesn't sound correct, to me. You're also missing a solid black pickguard. You can see some pictures of another 2616NT with guard and plastic nut in this thead:

Thanks man,
I'd forgotten to mention the pick guard... but to be honest I don't miss it... it would just cover that gorgeous woodwork.

The 2616 in the link you posted is stunning... looks pretty close to mint condition!
Any idea what the NT after the 2616 stands for?

NT stands for Natural. There was a CS for Cherry Sunburst, also.

Hey Rob,

Nice looking guitar. What great flame! There can't be too many of those in Oz.

There's an Ibanez Collectors day in December in Sydney. Maybe you are interested in coming along? The details are on this forum in a topic somewhere. Captain Ibanez is arranging it.

Cheers,
James
