It looks like a 2617 in beautiful condition with case. Not sure about the pickups - supposedly original with Super 70's?? $885 seems cheap.

you can nail these for a grand pretty frequently so, it is a bargain but... not an extreme one.

Bob...$885 for a 2617 with original case in that condition is a GREAT bargin ! I was courious on this one why the seller claims that guitar is all original , but the pickup surrounds are obvious replacements..

I asked the seller for the serial number and questioned the dark spots in the binding. Here's the reply I got:

"The Guitar was born in 1977 ....it is not Flawless but there is no cracking of the binding ....please do not bid if you are looking a perfect "10"."

With that bridge and tailpiece I would have suspected a '76 or earlier DOM.

probably a transition piece. with the current BIN prices. 885.00 is pretty good. but i haven't seen one hit a grand yet. mine was 800.00 2 years ago, and 850-900, was the going rate. ginger, didn't you post a price tracker on another thread about a 2617?

I've seen really nice 2617's go for around $1,200.
