Beautiful, beautiful MC300. Is it solid mahogany? Doesn't look like the ash over mahogany that I am used to seeing. I am new to the forum and very impressed with your (collective) knowledge and enthusiasm and have become obsessed with Ibanez guitars within the last 6 - 8 months. A few weeks back, I procured a MC300 which is structurally and sonicly very sound but the finish is hurting. I did find a NOS Gibraltar replacement bridge, but the finish needs either some borderline magical repair or a strip and refinish. 2 or 3 large stellate chips down to wood on the body and similar, smaller offenses on the headstock. First, anyone know the type of finish, and secondly, opinions on repair vs strip and refin? I have alot of experience with furniture refinishing, so I am not afraid, per se, of the task ahead... just want to do what's best for the guitar. Also, any recommendations on P90 replacement pick-ups (retrofit for humbuckers... have a Talman 420 that I'd like to try for a different sound with...)?
