I've seen your pics of 'the girls'; I'm sure this one would have been at home had you been successful Plenty more fish in the sea (these do come up from time to time over here). Last Antoria CA I saw a couple of months back was a burgundy one in absolutely STUNNING shape. Even the gold was as new. Strictly speaking, and following the rules of this board, Antorias are not Ibanez Vintage because of their headstock name. That said, most Ibanez enthusiasts agree that these guitars were made at the Fiji Gen Gakki plant, quite possibly alongside their Ibanez cousins. Billy and Six both have experience of selling these guitars in the 70s, and have posted elsewhere on the board describing competition between reps from the two rival importers trying to sell similar guitars. Antorias were cheaper and more numerous here in the UK than the Ibanez equivalents. Here is part of a 70s Antoria information poster (I'm indebted to Orval for this) showing part of the range, including the CA (here called the Custom 74). Lovely little piece of nostalgia eh? (I left some other models on just for fun). Note, no headstock logo and on the original scan the script on the pickups can just be made out; it reads 'Ibanez'... So, almost but not quite Ibanez. Set-neck and low action. Pickups are Super 70s, although not badged as such; instead they have a 5 digit inked number on the base. I don't have an Ibanez CA to compare with, but mine seems identical in all aspects to an Ibanez (star tuners, 'flowerpot' inlay, same 'multi-block' body wood, banjo inlays and that rather baroque pickguard.... )   Padraic Username: Padraic Registered: 08-2004 Posted on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 - 12:51 pm:    Oops! I forgot to say that I also have the Les Paul Custom shown in the leaflet as well. It's a bolt-neck; again has Super 70s and plays well. Neck pickup is especially bluesy with lots of sustain. How do you count this one, Dave? As 2405CA nr. 18 or is Antoria in a seperate list? What software do you use for your collection? Is it just a spreadsheet with a string change date column or a special soft? 'cause I read you have a built-in maintenance schedule for string changes etc...
