Do you think the taps are original??? The owner says yes, however, I'm not sure....anything else suspect?

This model didn't look familiar to me, so I asked a contact at Hishino USA and here's the response:

"... it looks like the guitar in question, from the description, is legit.

A check with our guy in National Accounts who deals with Guitar Center matters, indicates that your guitar is very likely a GAR300VB (the G almost certainly stands for Guitar Center, the VB for Vintage Burst). Guitar Center had the exclusive on this from May thru September of 1997, with a few pcs (less than 20) being released to non-GC dealers after that time.

As mentioned in Ibanez - The Untold Story, "proprietary models" (i.e. dealer-exclusive versions) were never in our Hoshino USA price lists and are therefore not listed in the addendum either. That is why you didn't see this axe in our lists."
