It really looks to me like a 2676 that was refinished... If that's so, the guy who did it should be tracked down and ....... Or???? We all know that sometimes real strange Ibanez "one of a kind" (experimental?) guitar pops up....I own a 12-string SG standard, all original Ibanez, and found no other yet. That's the fun about Ibanez.....it keeps you puzzled from time to time. Paul, as soon as you found out more or have the better pictures, please let us know! Says she got it checked out by a luthier since she's not very familiar with guitars. (She does use the wrong names for the different parts, so if she's a fraud, she's a good one.) She's very helpful and fast in reply. Feedback is so/so. Would you like a translation of the auction text? I am tempted..... This guitar also doesn't have the white binding shown in the 2676 catalog shot. Here is what I got back from the seller. Rare piece from old times - such a thing does not give it today any longer!! Description of article very beautiful electrical guitar of the mark IBANEZ kindcIst, Model 1969. Dark red Kirschholz kirschholz-Korpus with elfenbeinfarbener verge, goldfarbene mechanics, Perlmutt perlmutt-Intarsien, Bone insert between neck and head. Covering completely with fender ` 09, Humbucker switchable of asset on the passive. The instrument is full play ready. Note: the guitar has some small lack and customs traces due to its considerable age naturally, thus the lever of the change over switch for the pick-up broke off (however nevertheless functionally), besides are missing some the tiny screws at the pick-up as well as at the entrance opening to electronics. There also a corner broke out of the cover, see photo. I did not try from unawareness better, to pivot there new screws, possibly are special sizes - specialists will know it surely. Some small scratches and lacquer flakings on the korpus occupy a moved past - which I can unfortunately give no closer data, since the good piece came only into the 80ern to me. Small restriction: the weight of stately 4.8 kg with 98 cm overall length requires a certain from the future player, solid constitution. Delicate persons (as I) after some time inevitably problems of the fatigue-technical kind gotten... As a result of the heavy solid wood vollholz-Korpus in addition, a fat and full sound arises! Fan of such beautiful classical instruments - like it in the plastic age no more built and/or. are payable, their will enjoy! As addition gibt's the original suit-case plus a lead in addition - whereby also the suit-case has its special attraction due to its classical execution already... Ebay I, Postage of the buyers! I think it does have the white binding on top of the body, I can email you the full sized pics if you want to.... Six, you got an accurate translation with some bad English in it. (Please excuse my mistakes....) A summary: Ibanez Artist, model 1969. Dark red cherrywood body with ivory binding, goldcoloured tuners, pearl/pearl fretmarkers and a bone nut. Strung with Fender 09's. Ready to play. Humbuckers are to be switched active or passive. The three way toggle switch lever is torn off but the switch is working fine. Some screws of the pick-up mounting rings and the control cavity cover are missing. I think you'll get the rest from Six's translation. I do not think the cherrywood, pearl/pearl fretmarker, active passive switch is actually correct but that is what the seller writes. I therefor think it should end up in the collection of one of our "Ibanez family" members in order to be sure this unique guitar will be preserved "as is". Who's gonna go for it?
