This is superficial at worst. The cracking is in the glaze and has zero effect on playability. Maybe someone could explain why this is a ‘huge red flag’ if it is? This guitar will not be hanging in the Smithsonian but it is surely in the top 10% of all the other MC guitars I have seen on Ebay. The short list of reasons I am selling this guitar did not include the cracking around the jack plate I assure you. The top layer is fairly thin, and is prone to cracking around the jack. Generally the result of using straight plugs, rather than right-angle. Many have brass plates installed to cover the damage, or Strat-style recessed jacks because of the broken area. When I bought mine there were surface cracks, so I had the area reinforced from the inside.
