Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum and I'm looking at an early Artist 2619 that has no serial number....was it usual for Ibanez not to put serial numbers on the early artists? What years would they have been made?

Cheers

Hi and welcome mate,

Not unusual to see Ibanez guitars pre 1976 without Serial #. Try and post a pic and we'll be able to tell you more about your geetar.

Steved1.....there is an entire thread on this guitar...Help me identify my artist guitar" from a couple of weeks ago...I believe the final consensus was that this was a "transitional" guitar cross between a 2618 and a 2619 or just a 2619 with a two octave neck.....I remember the finish on the back of the headstock looked weird..Anyway has some mods and it dates from 1975/6 I believe.
