Bob weir model???

He gave me an option for purchase before he put it to the market. The guitar is very nice but I have problem to identify it. It looks like Artist Proffessional or Bob Weir economic Model. Color is natural, body is definetely made of ash or maple, fretboar is ebony with abalon DOT inlays. Neck is 3 pieces maple I suppose. It has double binding on the body, intresting carved top and humbuckers with strange sings on it (spiders?). The headstock is typical for Artist which makes my thougts about Bob Weir model doubtful. It has blocked pearl tuners. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the guitar but maybe my description would be enough for you to identify it.   Johns Username: Johns Registered: 02-2001 Posted on Monday, September 05, 2005 - 10:13 pm:    New_wave: Yes, it does sound like a Bob Weir "standard" until you mention that it has the typical Artist headstock. Does it have the German carve, bevel edge around the top of the body? But he says it has dot inlays and as far as I know the 2617 didn't come that way. But: 1. It has ABALON (not pearl) dot inlays 2. Body binding is as John supposed made of two black stripes 3. The number is F79.... Still I don't know what model is it.. I try to take some photos and put them here. So if your guitar has the Tri-Sound switch as well, I'd say that it's definitely a AR250NT. Since this model only seem to appear in my German catalog and your are from Denmark, I assume that the AR250NT was made especially for the European market. It has one trisound switch for neck pickup. The only difference is that it has double body binding (two black stripes). So - this is pretty rare guitar. I wonder how many of them were made and what is its market value. As far as value goes, although rare compared to it's big brother, the 2617, it's got to be worth less. Depending on condition, I'd guess from 1/2 to 2/3rds the value. If a 2617 goes for $1000.00US in your country, then the AR250 should be in the $500.00 to $700.00US range. Think you'll buy it? I have '83 AR300CS in perfect condition and thin '80 AR100AV with smooth-heel neck joint. I would rather go for '77 LesPaul copy which I was testing recently. It sounded really really amazing with PRS Dragon pickups. Thanks for your help
