look at the headstock.. Do you think this is a fake? I have a 79 st50 and it has the mop inlay on the headstock. any opinions? Freak? Johns? anyone?

It's not a fake. They used MOP (or Abalone) and regular gold on alot of different models. I have an ST50, ST55, and an ST300 with the Gold lettering. It looks pretty authentic except for the replacement tuner and it looks like a replaced pickup selector switch as well.

Thanks Freak, I have learned a lifetime about ibanez in the few days that I have been a member of this site. You guys are very cool. And I appreciate how willing you guys are to share your extensive knowledge of these guitars.. PS I didn't buy the lotus , it sounded like dog@#*t..
