hallo everybody,
i have a believed to be artist 2618 with brass covered pick up frames but was wandering if the flying finger pick up cover was mend te be bought apart from any pick up.
in my guitar there's a v2 in the bridge and a di marzio in the neck position but i was thinking ;can you just buy a cover and cover it/them ?
will there be a change of sound and/or feedback problems????
so the question is are the flying finger pups bought with a cover or sometimes without one and can they be bought seperately and placed on any pup you want?
is there a web site where they still sell these covers...?
thank you for taking the time to read this and perhaps give me an answer...
bai bai ,

Pickup covers can be bought separately. However, I have seen situations where a pickup doesn't fit the cover as well as it should, leaving up to 5mm clearance between the pup and the cover. This makes the distance from the strings so big, that sound quality is a lot worse.

Some people say that a cover does not make a difference, some say it does. I believe it is mostly a visual thing, and it may dampen the trebles slightly. Feedback shouldn't be affected, but humming and buzzing is probably lowered a bit. Just remember to ground the cover.

I don't think You can find Flying Finger covers anywhere, but music stores usually carry regular "unisex" covers.
