MC500-Help!

Having a little trouble deciding what to pay (working under the assumption that all electronics etc are ok). Here is a couple of Pics. Looks kind of like a project. That switch is a standard feature of the MC300 since October 1979. Since the guitar has the second version of the Gibraltar tailpiece with the slanted slots, the Output jack on the side and the different neck heel, I assume it's a 1980 model. So, all that having been said...and the general not-so-good condition of it, what would it be worth likely? I'm kind of excited about refinishing it, and it's probably not that valuable so I won't have a breakdown if it doesn't turn out well. Consensus? It looks like a lawn mower got it. So... if there are other issues, which I assume there are, then $250-$300. The mc300 doesn't have those white dots. The selector switch there by the dots is most likely original, it's that other black control knob that does look like a replcement. Well, it's all original and it's alot of fun really, this '78 mc500nt. Great shape too. It's the older version with the output jack on the top, though. The Volume knob of the guitar on the pics Stogie provided was obviously replaced and the rotary switch should have a Chickenhead knob. As far as I can see from the pics, that one seems to be a replacement part too. The guitar in the pic you uploaded has chrome hardware and no Tri-Sound switches, so it's either a MC100 or MC200. Very late -79 or -80 MC300DS.If it were MC300 Limited edition, it would have "Limited Edition" inlay on the end of the fretboard. It also lacks the multi-ply neck of the MC500 (or even MC400, which has flat body also) BTW. Does anyone know anything about black MC 300:s? I have 3 Musicians and my '78 500DS has 3 tone controls above the 3 eq knobs. As far as the 300, I'm guessing you could probably turn around and sell it on Ebay or something for around $4-500, but that's just my guess. At the end of the day if you aren't a serious collector all that should matter is it's playability and sound. Does it still sound okay?
