Are they set or thru??

Seems the '81-'83 Brass Beauty is thru. Yet my 2622 types ('78 2622 and '79 AR500 w/same body as former - Smooth Heel)are set...no?

So, I always assumed that my '81 AR300CS (Smooth Heel II) is set like Gibson LPs.

I'm so confused

Anyone? Anyone?

I've been interested in Ibanez since the late 70's and the only through-neck 80-84 Artist I have ever seen is an AS400. But knowing Ibanez, it wouldn't surprise me if someone shows me a through-neck 80-84 AR. It would be a real find indeed.

Oh yes, the Brass Beauty has set neck, not through neck.

Other neck thru Artists would be the 2700 and 2710. But these are constructed more like Musicians than traditional Artists.

I remember that there was an ad that stated something about neck thru construction, but I believe it was inaccurate.

I have two 1981 AR300 brass beauties and they are both set necks. Not through necks.

My '79 2619 is definitely a set neck.

I thought the only through neck guitars in the range were the Musicians.

I am aware that Ibanez in some advertisements has mentioned that AR 300 Brass Beauty would be neck thru, but as we can see, this is not the case.. And also my -81 B-Beauty is a setneck..
Production-wise it would not be even cost-effective to make a completely different jig to build a couple of neck-thru Artists, major part of the production being "normal" Artists.. :-)

Fox, Paul, Ace et al...check out this misleading info on the right side of the ad:

http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1981/p03.jpg

I guess it probably worked to our (certainly Pauly's;) advantage...more sold due to false advertising = more in circulation for us.

BTW LP - you have two?? Need more hardware??
