Michael..Nah, thats the infamous AR30 one of coolest cheap guitars you could ever own (if you can get it cheap !) Only offered for two years in 1982/83 (total production of 836 in Black and 950 in the burst-making this one of the "rare" models) this buget Artist features Japanese Ash construction and a unique electronics array for a low end guitar. The pickups are Super 70's just with creme exposed bobbins. These guitars are very well made and are a joy to play. They are still great bargins because most collectors (not this one) shy away from guitars without the fancy trimmings (purfiling, inlay, binding) this guitar was made to be a low price offering (note the generic stop and low end bridge, step heel, single control cavity)with no ornamentation but what remains is the same fit and feel of more expensive Artist.
