Ok I am new around here so please bear with me. I can tell there are a lot of people who know their stuff around here so I am asking for some advice. I would have loved to get my hands on one of those "Cowboys" but it seems as though I found out about them a few months too late. Therefore I am considering making alterations to my 2681. I (like others here)love the sound that Weir gets out of his cowboy and am wondering if I make a change to the pickups in my guitar if I can somewhat get close to that sound. Years ago I put a single humbucker in between the two Super 70's that came with the guitar and also added a 3 band equalizer. This was done at Stars Guitars in San Francisco. I am considering putting the Dimarzio pickups that the "cowboy" has to try to achieve the sound I am looking for. Any suggestions? I appreciate any help that is offered.

Thanks Michael. I will try to figure out how to post pictures on here so you can see what I'm trying to explain.

Frank, click on "formatting" link to the left, scroll down and you will see what you need to know about posting photos here. I think it's something like... you type in... \ image{photo}" or something close to that. (I had to add spaces or a "your image here" box would have appeared here... so backslash, the word image, then the brackets next to the letter "P" on your keyboard. Then, when you go and hit "preview/post this message" you will see a box appear that allows you to search for the photo wherever you saved it on your computer. You're better off hitting the "formatting" link than listening to me though. Good luck. And welcome aboard.

btw....the pictures cannot exceed 100KB. If they do, open them in MSPAINT and from the menu, choose Image, then Stretch/Skew and reduce the picture by 50% (horizontal & vertical) and then save it. If it's still too large, do it again.
