Can anybody identify this Hollowbody ...

He believes it dates from the 70's. There are no markings on it however apart from the Ibanez logo on the headstock. There is no label inside the guitar either. No serial number indicates that it was made prior to mid 1975. Not many survive 30 years in this condition. Has it been replaced? Also, the pickups should be covered with gold plates. Yes, the guitar is in remarkably good condition considering what I now know is its age. The guitar was bought about 7 years ago from its original (from new) owner who sadly is no longer around to fill in any more details on its history. I myself thought that it looked like either the pickup covers had been removed or the pickups changed too - I'm not sure how I'll be able to tell. Is there a way to tell e.g. any mounting arrangement for the covers that would be visible? I don't believe that the tailpiece has been changed - it's probably just that the guitar has been very well looked after. It's been great to identify it, as with no markings apart from the 'Ibanez' logo I had imagined that it would be difficult to identify, so thanks again for your help! In my opinion the early 1970's Ibanez lawsuit archtops sound and play much like the original Gibson L5ces of the late 60's and early 70's. Not sure if you know much about guitar tinkering but if you slacken off the strings then you could carefully remove one of the pickups by unscrewing the 4 screws located on one of the black pickup rings that hold the pickups in place. When you have done that, slowly lift the whole thing out, spin it over and see if there are any markings. If you can take a photo we can help more.
