Hey all, just joined this site the other day. Am the proud owner of a 1980 Artist I bought new, my first "real" guitar (cheap crappy LP copy before that).

I've acquired several guitars since, Gibson SG, Strat, Love Rock among others, but the Artist is still the most rock solid performer of the lot; plays like a dream. I GASed for a real LP for many years before finally realizing I had one of the best mahogany/maple cap axes out there.

I also picked up a used AS-80 (1990 I think) and am having lots of fun with that; always wanted a semi-hollow.

Anyway, just thought I would say HI to my fellow Ibanezites!!

Welcome Artistfirst:-)
I agree about the Artists....a have three...a '77 2618, a '78 2619 and an '80 AR100. I have a very good Les Paul but don't use it much. The Artists are lighter and have better upper fret access.
