I have a 1974 2614 Ibanez Artist solid body electric with original case (has no serial number). It has the star inlays in the neck and plastic pic guard ect. It's in great condition with the exception that it has a few chips in the finish along a couple edge's. I am considering selling it and am having a very difficult time even finding another like it on the net let alone find out what it may be worth. Can anyone here steer me in the the right direction or maybe tell me what it may be worth. It plays and looks great, the chips are minor. Thank you in advance.

Hi "Crow"

You don't see the 2614 too much: of the old Artist series we mostly see the black or the natural versions, the one you have is rare. However: these first Artist series is not very sought after: they are kind of non-solid (arched top with hollow chambers under it) and have bolt-on necks. More or less they were built like the bolt-on Les Paul copies.
I think the value will be around 400 US dollars.

Kind greetz,
Harry

Thanks for your input Harry. I was really hopeing that it would be worth more since it is quite old and rare. I'm wanting to get an acustic and another, newer electric but I may now just stick to purchasing an acustic.

Hey Crow,

The price of theese guitars varies a lot according on location.

The last Two of theese that sold here in Australia sold for over $900aus which is about $700us. Depends on where abouts you are.
