OK...

So I put the 'ol strap on my week old 2619 and after about four hours of collective play time... pop, the strap pin on the horn comes off! Glad I was able to grab the neck and keep it from dropping.

It's obvious that there was at some point a larger screw (likely from a straplock system of some kind) screwed into the hole. Seems that about 2/3 of the hole is sloppy from the bigger screw, and the laquer is cracked around the hole because whomever did it didn't bother to pre-drill. Same thing on the butt-end.

What's the best way to fix this, and assure it holds... longer screws and a filler? I bought this to play so I don't want to worry about the strap pins coming off! Any suggestions are appreciated!

Rockon, a couple matchsticks and good wood-glue should do the trick. Let dry. trim a little with a sharp knife and re-install the strap-button. This point you could install some Schaller strap-lock buttons or equivalent, recommends
