V2s - which Allen Key?

Everything I have seems to be too big or too small. Has anyone tried removing a row of poles from V2s to see what they sound like? I just use a small screwdriver. I have a set of power sustain pickups from a Japan made Washburn Hawk (Matsumoko) that look identical to my V2s that use allen screws. The sound is interesting - slightly down on power, less middle and more cutting, like a P90. I think I'm going to put a DiMarzio PAF (DP103) on the neck and put the 'depoled' V2 on the bridge. Geoff
