This is just an idea of mine, but will you guys let me hear your opinions?

What if there was a booklet featuring only AR models? The one with approximately 80 photos of the guitars covering a variety of models from 26** models to the recent AR3000 and other attractive ARs, plus brief comments on each guitar. Would you like to buy the booklet?
In fact, I've been working on a small, "A5-sized" photo book which will be published at around this spring. But, unfortunately, it is written in Japanese, and will be unavailable internationally, I'm afraid.
Thus, I'm now thinking of translating the whole booklet and, if possible, trying to talk the publisher into issuing a "world-wide version" of the book. What do you think?

Hasenobbu,

Sounds like a great idea, what about doing a disk copy rather than print?

Great Idea. I would suggest seeing if you can get in touch with Hoshino, they may be able to provide you with neat stuff to work with.

Thank you guys for your encouraging responses. I already submitted my idea to the publishing company and now waiting for their answer.

Snowjays,
Oh, disk copying...! I've never given it a thought!! Well, I'm afraid that the publishing company would be unwilling to do that....

Bobzilla,
Thanks for your suggestion. Actually, I wanted to include the legendary AR custom model (the "paradise model"?), and asked HOSHINO, Japan through the publisher, but got a very unfavorable answer!! (They said they don't have such a guitar in their head office!!)

Hello.

Finally, the booklet I mentioned above has come out!
The left one is the photo-book, which lists 76 guitars covering almost all the AR models:

FYI, the book on the right side was issued 2 years ago here in Japan, featuring AR guitars as its main theme.

Hello.

I'm sorry to tell you that at the present there's no English version. (As I wrote earlier, however, I asked the publisher about the possibility for that, and got a halfway positive answer to the effect that the chief editor is going to have a negotiation this summer.)

For those who might be interested in the book:

Each of the 76 guitars are shown in one page full color picture and on the other side of the page is a black/white picture with brief comment on the guitar.

Dave,

>but he wants $100 for it !

Really? You mean the small photo-booklet type of the series? (Vol. 1 & 2 deal with exclusively Greco guitars.) The price of each volume is approx. $14!!

Hello.

Bobzilla:
>Hasenobu, if we send you what you require, can you purchase and distribute?

I'll be more than happy to do that, of course!
As I'm the author of the photo-book, I can get the copies at discounted prices. The shipment (to the US) will cost, maybe, 5 or 6 US dollars, though.
The total would be less than US $18, I believe.>I'll let you know the exact expense later.
Anyways, if there's anyone that wants to get a copy of the photo-booklet (available only in the Japanese language version at the moment), please e-mail me at hase1961@yahoo.co.jp
I'll try to ship the book ASAP.

Dave, your collection would have added several chapters to the book. Actually may have turned it into something the size of a New York City telephone book.
