John, I only have a b/w scan of this on the Captain Ibanez laptop, but no construction info, I beleive its from the mid to late 60's. I think our mates Harry and Hasy shouls step up to the plate on this one.
Still, I reckon if your a true collector, this rare birds a must have.

Hi John & Cameron

i discuss with the owner about this old 60s ibanez model.
A never seen one, from the late sixties. He not sell this beauty :-(

Cameron: Could you add the bl/wh scan to the board please ?

One question i got:

Nagoya - Japan.
Is this the place of the IBZ produktion in japan in the late sixties ?

Where are the aria/arai Matsumoko production placed ?

Could this be one of the partnership works of Hoshino/Matsumoko ?

Thanks for your help !

Hasy

Excuse me for putting my nose into this matter.

Hasy,

>Is this the place of the IBZ produktion in japan in the late sixties ?

I don't think so. Nagoya is where the office of Hoshino is located, and as far as I know, IBZ guitars were never produced there. Their (original) factory has been located in Matsumoto, Japan.

Re: Aria/Arai Matsumoko
Aria (and Arai) guitars were mainly made by "Matsumoku" not "Matsumoko." And it was located in Mastumoto, Japan, as well.

This is only my guess, but back then (I mean, late sixties and early seventies) Hoshino (or, I should say, Fujigen) and Matsumoku had no partnership.

Hey Guys?
I'm the owner of that Ibanez 1970 model. The only thing that I know about that guitar is that I play on it since 1971. A friend solt it to me, because he didn't like those semi acoustic guitars. I still play on it most every day. This Ibanez is in original state. In 1996, a friend-guitarist took it to his work (Belgian TV) and there they did a complete adjustment and cleaning-up. So this beauty stays young forever.
I don't have no more information to give at this moment. First I mailed it all to Harry and Hasy. Than I discovered this website. It's a good feeling being a member of the Ibanez family. Maybe I have to start a collection myself. Sorry for my english, it's years ago a wrote so much in your language.
I hope to receive more information on the 1970 model. I'll follow and answer the mails on this subject. See you
