Does anyone know where I can buy cream colored pickup mounting rings with the same dimensions as the originals? I bought some rings from Guitar Parts Resource and the holes don't line up. I can make it work but it's not elegant. I don't have the original bridge pickup anyhow I am mounting a 2 hole present day pickup.
I spent some good money rounding up a bridge and tailpiece and block and have it all up and playable. I put a Seymour Pearly Gates in there and to my suprise it doesn't sound too good. I will be swapping that out with a JB, hopefully that will sound better.
It is a damn fine looking guitar! I had forgotten how beautifull it was and is. Hard as hell to keep in tune tho. Don't remember it being so bad that way. The strings hang on that brass nut.

Some nut sauce will fix the strings hanging up on the brass nut. Had the same problem myself. As for the pickups rings that is a problem. My 2619 has pup rings like Swiss cheese from different pickup mounting screw widths! I'd like to get hold of some new rings myself. I have Bareknuckle Nailbomb pickups in the guitar now and it sounds utterly amazing....:-)

Hey OD, can you post a pic of your axe with the Nailbombs in it? I'd love to see how it looks with those as replacements.

Thanks!

Over the weekend I'll see if I can get some decent pics of the 2619 with the Nailbombs. Unfortunately I don't have a very good camera and am an even worse photgrapher. BTW. I got the idea from Steve Stevens who has black covers on his Nailbombs on his black Les Paul and I think it looks very cool...:-)

Hey OD, what do you use for nut sauce? Nut sauce, sounds kinda obscene :-)

Also I have a problem where the original neck pickup is out of phase with the new replacements. I can probably just switch the ground and hot wire orientation but wonder if you had the same problem? I used to have an old Carvin pickup in there on the bridge and can't remember it having any phase problems.

The stuff I use is called Big Bends Nut Sauce at http://www.guitaristonly.com/ As for the pickups, both pickups on my 2619 are Nailbombs, so there are no phase problems. My three Artists have after market pickups so I haven't come across that problem...:-)

OD,
Are the bombs configured with the trisounds or are they bypassing on your 2619?

Also, shoot your pics of the 2619 with strong ambiant light against white (or light fabric like a sheet)...then just fire the pics to me at the email below and I'll post 'em.

The trisound switches had been removed before I got the guitar so that wasn't a factor. I didn't get to photograph the guitar over the weekend as I was recording so I'll give it another try in the next few days.

There are cream pickup rings in the Ibanez 2004 parts catalog for the AR200 and AR300. I don't know if they're the same size as the ones on the 2618/2619s though. I'd like to get a couple of sets myself:-)
