I think this is a rare GB-10!!!!!!!!!

It is definitely old, but how old?? I just pulled out my '81 and shot this pic of the headstock to show you what I mean. Notice the one replaced tuner that is the newer style G10 tuner without the split down the center of the post. I like having the split... Best way of determining the age is to ask the seller for the serial numer that should be on the back of the headstock - that photo he shot of it in the ad isn't helpful in that regard. Hopefully either a MC888, MC980, or I would settle for an ST980. I have wanted an eight string since I was about 6 yrs old and I saw Sting playing a fretless MC980. I would kill for that. I was just looking at the dark lettering on the back of the tuners. My 79 GB10 has gold lettering. Nothing on the headstock and no manufacturing number on the label. And regarding the split top tuners, I have three GB10’s two from -79 January and October and one -83. Only the -83 has tuners with split tops. All have gold lettering on the tuners. I feel it is something strange with the missing numbers on this one. Also, the Korean models have the 3 or 5 ply black, white, black style pickguards. The Japanese GB10's have the bound tortoise pickguards. I know the guy I am buying it from from a Tokai board and this is a real sweet guitar: a 2001 Tokai LS200, solid flame maple cap, ebony board, VH1 pickups, medium neck tendon, real sweet Les Paul clone. Actually they embarrass the hell outa that G-brand company. Hope you enjoy seeing this teaser shot. I get it on the 1st, the guy lives not too far from where I work too.
