The $1,849 Must be "incorrect." Nice axe though. I wonder what he's basing the $1,849 on.

I guess this my own private thread here but.... actually, it's NOT a 2622 after all. What is it?

Ar-300. Yes, very expensive. Tri-sounds. No EQ.

Thanx Mike. When I looked at it again, I noticed it wasn't the 2622. Nice guitar though. To me this is "crazy" expensive. Nice guitar though.

That's Freedom Guitar at it again. Asking twice what something's worth.

They do that when they get something halfway collectible. I've been in the store several times over the last 15 years. Decent prices on "non collectible" guitars, but when they get something like this they shoot for the moon.

I'd never pay that much for that guitar. I can't imagine that anyone else would, either.

Totally disagree that 'it is only worth half that.' In fact, since these kick the snot out of most Les Pauls I've played (in tone, craftmanship and detail), why would they not draw close to the same cash? Especially AVs which seem far less common than the CS finish.

Recently, an '84 (with a lesser bridge config IMNSHO) in excellent condition went for $1,500+ US. Personally I think all of these Ibanez Artist legends are worth that jing if you are going to use Gibson as the guideline. Perhaps the better question is, why are the average '70s - '90s Gibsons priced around $2,000 on average?

Ohterwise, I guess you pay what you get for ;O)

Perhaps, saying that its "twice what it's worth," is coming from the wrong angle - it's probably more accurate to say that their price for that guitar is just about twice what those guitars are going for on ebay or craigslist.

But you are absolutely correct that it's significantly better than a comparable Gibson - which would go for that price - or even more than that price.

Then again, a lot of people, myself included, think that Gibsons are way overpriced right now as it is.

But I'd definitely take an AR300 or a 2619 over a Les Paul any day.
