I've looked at various threads covering bridges, but I didn't see any like this one. It looks like that was a really nice guitar before it was set up for a tremolo (it still looks nice other than the plate and the holes in the headstock), and despite what the seller is saying about the guitar not being "cut" (routed), I can't see why the plate would be there if there wasn't something seriously wrong with it cosmetically. I'm wondering if it could be fixed if it has been routed at all. (Matching the wood would seem to be the hardest part - at least that's my gut feeling - but, unlike my brother, I'm no luthier so I'm not sure.) That is a seriously screwed up 2619. For a guy whose had this guitar for 16 years, he doesn't know much about it. I wonder how much he got for it? The current bridge and tailpiece (Gibraltar II and Quik-Change II versions) are from the mid 80s. The guy said that the locking nut was never installed, but my guess is it was. If it weren't for that big hole under the plate he would probably have tried to get away with that one too....;)
