Hi again. I have seen one of these guitars around, but have not had a chance to play one. There is very little I have read about them and wondered if any of you own one and how you like it.( I have now acquired an '81 ar100 and a '79 ar300/2619 and am really enjoying them both )

Well, prices it's a tricky thing, but relation Price-quality nowadays I would range them around 800 U$ and I know I might get attack, but they are fantastic guitars, really worth, anything under is a steal for what you get........Bring them g****n!!!!!,and lets hear the sound,..........
cheers

Do you know if the neck is bolt or set? On the Argus price list I find in one of the other links, the Performer PF300 is described as "Les Paul model screw neck". The PF230 is similar but described as "stick neck". Anyone know the relative terms?
cheers

Ibnose...The PF series covers a bunch of models. In the USA these models were the PF100 (Laminate top, dot neck, bolt on), PF200 (Laminate top, Block inlays, bolt on), PF230 (Laminate top, block inlays, triple pup, bolt neck), PF300(Laminate top, block inlays, set in glued neck)and the PF400 ( solid maple capped mohagany body, block inlays, set in glued neck)

The european version included many other models (PF155, PF350, etc)

$800.00 for PF300? Really? I didn't think that they have appreciated that much. I would hope that $650.00 would get you a PF300 and $800.00 for a PF400. Maybe I'm out of touch with the current prices.

I own one, in near mint condition. It's a great looking instrument, plays better than my '93 gibson LP, has a better finish and sounds just about the same (My Gibson sounds a bit brighter clean but the PF300 has more definition when played with distortion). To me, it's a better instrument than my Gibson. So yes, to me it is more worth than 800$. Still looking for a PF400 though (considering the spec's and the high quality of the PF300, this should really rock!).
