Maybe Ibanez should come out with a relic'd CA reissue complete with broken headstock. It worked for Fender :-)

bob...I don't think the seller is willing to deal with reality on that one. Its been listed several (actually MANY) times on EBay with a $600 BIN...My be is the seller will leave the auction up as long as he can but will take it down if the bidding doesn't reach $600 or so (which it will not). The headstock would be a real bear to repair correctly and this one isn't even the desireable pre-serial number model.

Oh well.... a better one will undoubtedly come along then. Done by the right person, I wouldn't think the headstock would be too difficult to deal with. It would prob. be a cinch for a good woodworker, and not too 'spensive. Using a photo of a complete one as a guide.

Bob..no doubt that this can be fixed with pretty good results, and I think if it was a BURG pre serial number one with logo pups this auction would see some action. As is I think the seller has to be prepared to let it go at a "project" price...

Dave, I read the auction description, are you sure we're talking about the same guitar here? From the description, this one seems to be in pretty decent shape and not in need of repair.

Bob:

If you are talking about the link in the first message, the auction description clearly states, "The headstock scroll is broken off but otherwise this guitar is in good shape. This guitar shows some playwear and finish checking".

Are you talking about another CA on ebay?

He's probably talking about this one. The first one listed has been listed over and over. I think he originally had a BIN of 1,100.

Looks like Bob threw down an early 200 dollar token bid on the one I'm linking.

:-)

Yes Brent... the link you provided is the correct one. Did I list another link by mistake (above?) If so... sorry. The one I wanted to let folks see, looks like a decent one, I figured Dave would be all over it and yes, I put my little bid there with no hope of winning the guitar. I did it just to keep it in my face on my Ebay. So... I hope Dave sees it and likes it.

Bob:

OK, the one Brent linked to makes more sense. Looks just like the one I used to own, only in slightly better condition. And the seller seems to be very knowledgeable about the guitar. That's good.

Bob, Brent.. Yea the second link was the one I think you were trying for at the beginning of this thread. Thats a nice CA, the real deal(logo pups, urn headstock)-early one too based on the lack of the belly cutout...Seller seems to think its "pristine" and could be a musuem pc with "a little work". Well I don't know about that-there are way too many chunks missing out of the finish (even on the front !) and the hardware is way too pitted to be consitered "pristine", I'd give it a 8.5/10. Bet she sounds great though ! I'll be courious to see how much this one goes for cause it is obvious to me that the seller is looking for a major score here ! Look to see this one pulled within 12 hours of end if the bidding doesnt approach $1,000. Personally I'd take a stab at it-because it looks to be original, but I have enough CA's at the moment and most of them are actually in better shape than this one...
