Have been looking hard for 2yrs. now. I have played these guitars sense 85. My first one, the best one, was stolen...ouch. No other semi-hollow has a real full action wammy bar like this... Have you guys ever even seen an AM75CST around hear. I used my AM75 on many Edie Brickell New Bo records and would love any help, as we are recording & planning to tour. Thanx

Welcome Kenny,

You are the guitarist with Edie Brickell? I had heard rumors that you used Ibanez AM series guitars. Cool! Sorry to hear yours was stolen.

Did your AM75 have an Edge ('85) or a Pro Rock'r ('86) trem? I have seen very few with the Edge trem, or in the cherrybust finish. The vast majority are black with the Pro Rock'r - these come up on eBay fairly regularly in the $400-500 range.

Are you interested in the AM255? This was upscale from the AM75. The tone is different from (warmer/darker) because of the mahogany construction, but it has the same Pro Rock'r trem.

I'll keep on the lookout for one on eBay.

You can check my Ibanez AM page for info:

Thanx for the post Funkle!

Yes, I have an AM255...Your exactly right, the tone is darker... not the same. The trem is slightly different as well. (smaller pegs & wrap around string saddles). Ive had 3 Am75s, one 85 & two 86's. They all had the Rock'r trems. Ive never seen a black 75 with an Edge trem. One reason Im looking for the 75CST is for the trem. They all seem to have small differences. One of my 86's even has smaller cut-aways. I look on Ebay once or twice a day....I think I missed one about a year ago. whaaaa. This is an awsome site, I look here often & finally decided to beg... Yeah, I played this guitar on "what i am" & most of that record, exept for a strat on one song. I used it on 1or2 tunes on the second record. My 255 is the only playable one left, 2 75's stolen & one is in sad shape.

Thank you for the help!
