Super sexy guitar, but how some auctions arrive at their starting bid, I don't know. Kinda ruins the eBay bidding excitement doesn't it? I mean even a lower starting bid reduces the overall eBay fee's (insertion fee).

if i set it lower, i would have to put a reserve on it and that is expensive.

Here's an ICW version of the ebay link:

The starting price should be lower than what it will sell for, So Shambala, you could have started that at a penny. Just take a look at what previous auctions for these have ended at.

Too bad about the hole in the control cavity. That's a bit of turn-off for me.

Johns, that link you inserted points to an invalid item number. Try this:

If I start at a penny, I risk selling it below what I wanted out of it. If I have to relist I may bring the price down a bit.

This is an intersting topic about selling on ebay. what if I start the auction at like $10, isn't that a big risk. are you talking about putting a reserve on the auction to protect myself or are you just saying sell it to the highest bidder no matter what his bid may be. what if it only went to $300, I would be stuck selling the guitar for mush less than it's value. Ebay does not promise a true supply and demand price.

The point I wanted to make was I'm confident that you would get at least what you wanted for it regardless of where you started the auction, assuming 719 is what you wanted. These have been selling in the 900-1200 range, with one just selling for 1500+:

As far as eBay goes, your observations are correct. But you don't have a $300 guitar. There's a lot of members here (me included) that would never let it go that cheap without bidding on it ourself! Listed correctly (as you have done), you can be confident the guitar will sell at a price you'll be happy with.

My guess is 850-1000.
