I am selling a 1983 Ibanez AM-100 guitar in collectors shape. It barely even has a scratch on the original pickups. Again I took very good care of it, always kept it clean and it has never been gigged. You would think it was brand new, yet the tonewoods have aged 22 years. Everything is original including the case. I can send pictures at your request. You will not find one of these in this condition.
Tg4080@hws.edu or (585) 367-8381. I live in the Rochester, NY area.

Alright I'm gonna give ICW members another chance before I put this one on ebay. I sold my other AM-100 on ebay about a month ago. It sold for the buy it now in less than 24 hours. I'm not asking an arm and a leg. That one was in 8.5/10 condition, This one is in 9.8-9.9. Case is mint and the guitar itself has always been wiped down after playing and taken care of. I put straplocks with the same size screws on so that I could more easily replace it in the case after playing. Never worked on, 100% original (still have the original straps to put back on) and has no fretwear to speak of. In the following picture the pickups look scratched but this is not the case. The original pickups look like mirrors with barely a pick scratch on them. I sold the last one to a ICW member with quite a collection (slpraeg--I hope you don't mind me using you as a reference)
The guitar was set up at stutzman's guitar center which is a high end vintage instrument store in Rochester, NY. Would be willing to take it to a local guitar shop of your choice for a reference on the condition--there's not another one in this condition, and the guitar is so toneful.

My best contact is (585) 705-1782 or tg4080@hws.edu

I have actually never polished this guitar. Just wiped it down after playing. I think that the key to keeping your guitars looking like new is getting the oils etc of the guitar immediately so that the chemicals in your hands dont react with the finishes.

However, My AM-205, I used some of the advice given by spiro and other ICW members and put a coat of meguiars wax on for a really nice clean protectant. As soon as I get a chance, I will change the strings on this guitar and do the same. The stuff is amazing. Before you use it make sure that you carefully wipe the dust and any grime off. As far as the neck, I clean major grime off with a *light scrape of a credit card...it comes right off or i may use a light bristle tootbrush. Qtips get right up in the fret area. Once every few years a very light coat of lemon oil is applied (i think theres better treatments out on the market now). And I think the most important cleaning/maintenance I do is masking off the fretboard and using never dull to polish the frets to a mirror shine.<--you do this and it will eliminate a lot of wear because there is less abrasive resistance on the frets.

Overall, I think I have just been fortunate enough to have picked up exceptionally well taken care of guitars and this is why they are so shiny. I will polish this guitar and put up a few more pictures for before and after comparison.
