Restoration project: '77 Silver Serie...

I bought this guitar a couple of years ago and planned a full blown restoration project. Besides taking the guitar apart and a brief start to remove the finish I never found the time to continue so I decided to sell it. The guitar hasStar Tuners and a nicely aged neck. A previous owner mounted a Kahler locking trem unit on it. I was planning to replace this with a standard Strat bridge. The guitar will be sold as is. (taken apart). (Judging by the pictures). And what's about the former screw holes at the front of the headstock (around the wooden "plug" that covers the truss rod)? Why are they there? What has been screwed on/in there? What did you do so far concerning "remove the finish"? In how far are the remains (taken apart) to be compared to what we see in the pictures? I have been (partly) sanding the body to remove the paint. The screw holes near the headstock are from a locknut that goes with the Kahler trem. I only took the guitar apart and starting sanding a bit. The parts are the same as in the pictures only the body is partly sanded. I can take a pic or two from the guitar in it's current state. Until now I've never seen a Silver Series strat in original black finish. Didn't even know they excisted! (seen sunbursts, burned ash and white Silver Series, but never black) Please do place a picture of the body in its current state. Sure hope you haven't gone all the way to the wood..... By the way: I'm in Veenendaal at the vintage guitar event. If you are planning to come there too, could you put the remains of that guitar in a (body)bag and show me? I'll see if I can post a pic this weekend. You will probably not like what you see there. I'm not planning to go to Veenendaal. - John
