Hello Redline
I have a 1977 IC210 Iceman that I was thinking of selling. I had decided to keep it as I have had it since new and was pursuaded that it may be a good investment. Are you still looking? Here is a photo of my guitar.

The script logo is the older script style Ibanez logo before they went to the more squared off block style lettering (like appears on your truss rod cover) on the headstocks for the company logo. Anyone wanna post a pic or two for visual comparison? They're pretty hard to mistake for one another.

This is the most common script logo.

IbanezScriptLogo

Sometimes the letters are on an angle (most often seen on headstocks).

Sorry, I misunderstood your query. I'm not sure why my guitar has the logo on the truss rod cover. Below is a link to a brochure showing the IC210 with the same headstock as mine. http://vintageibanez.tripod.com/iceman/catalog_scans/78cat_p2.gif
The real unusual thing about my guitar is that it has dots on the fretboard instead of the rectangular inlays. I actually sent a copy of the photo to Captain Ibanez to ask his opinion as I did not want to misrepresent what I was selling. I have copied his comments below:
"Maade17, it certainly appears to be a IC210 model, however, it may have been a what is called a "spot production model" with it having a dot neck instead of the sloping block inlays. With the serial number being L77 = December 1977, then its a good chance that they may have done a run of say 200 to 300 units with dot fret markers for other markets around the world. The reasons behind this is that the production model IC210 feautured in the 1978 catalogue has the different fret markers to your guitar, as the dot style markers may not have been as popular with Ibanez's world wide distributors at the time
. I don't think you are misrepresenting what you are selling, but thats my 2 cents worth.

Hope this info helps

Captain Ibanez "
