Can anyone advise on mailing guitars, especially from UK. I have an RS1000CS in rectangular hard case(not Ibanez) & would like advice from anyone with experience of mailing such items. I thought maybe just enclose tho whole thing in a sealable thick plastic bag, do royal mail do such packaging etc ?   Brentm Username: Brentm Registered: 03-2005 Posted on Sunday, October 29, 2006 - 11:30 am:    Here's what I usually do. Put the guitar in a styro bag (like the kind that LCDs are shipped in). I also usually use some filler inside the case if there is any wiggle room for the guitar to move around. I always put parts (trem arms, case keys, tools, etc) inside the case inside a large bag, or they'll usually end up on top of the guitar, scratching it. Then get a box that fits the case and stick it in that, with more bubble or foam peanuts. There was a couple things of USPS tape around the width of the guitar case, and a mailing label right on the case itself. The case is now a bit cattywumpus, but it survived without any major issues. I was a little miffed at the seller for such neglect, but it arrived in fine shape.   Bluesmeister Username: Bluesmeister Registered: 05-2004 Posted on Sunday, October 29, 2006 - 11:57 pm:    I recently received a bass guitar from Japan (not an Ibanez model) and it was packed as described by BrentM, but with four or five styrofoam blocks rather than beads preventing movement inside the cardboard box. It was in a gig bag, not a hard case and was in perfect condition when I opened the packing. I felt my stomach move up into my throat when I saw it. Fourtunately it arrived unscathed. The seller was just naive about how to ship. Good Luck
