I think that one is on consignment. I e-mailed tymguitars a while back to see if they had any other Artists and he said that the black one was on consignment. $1500 is still too much I think.

Yes, but the other was an AR300, 1979, with the thin body and original Super 80's. Bit of a difference between that and an AR50.

Still WAY to pricy ! These guitars sell in the $300-$350 range (US) or approx $400 Aus....Now unless this particular model is rare down under, I don't know where the seller is getting his estimated selling price from...I think he might be confused with some of the higher end artists....

There are three others (two with binding (80's)) on EBay, only one with bids ($399)....The last two sold for less than $300

Settle Fellas, I'd still say that this ones a bit pricey but, over here in Aus, the Artist models are few and far between. This one I looked at myself, and is a good player. If I were to buy one from the U.S and freight here it would cost about $400 PLUS $125 FOR Feight. Somewhere around $750 Aus.
Most people wouldn't go through all that, or if you prefer to try before you buy, then about $800 to $900 Aus is what you would expect to pay over here.
The noticable point is that most guitarists here have heard of the legend called an "Ibanez Artist", but haven't got a clue on the various models. Hence the higher prices on the lower end models, while the higher end models are a bit cheaper in some respect.
A bit like all the gold diggers claiming there LP copy is a "lawsuite" model, or made in the Ibanez factory.

The 'legend' thing is much the same in the UK Snowjays. To be honest, I don't think the UK guitar playing fraternity are that bothered. That's been good for me when I could actually find something worth buying.
