I didn't think it would happen, and I've been keeping my eyes off of guitars for 6 months or so (except for mine), but I actually got a big enough bonus at work to get a 2619.

Of course, there was a nice '76 on ebay - but I wasn't able to bid on it until I was sure that I'd have enough money to cover it (which happened at work this morning). Of course, being at work - I couldn't actually make the bid myself after I found out about the bonus (well, I could, but let's just say that I wouldn't have a job if I used the internet for anything other than "approved, business related use").

I called my brother to bid for me, but he was on the road and didn't get to his computer until 3 minutes AFTER the auction ended.

Just more of my bad timing in trying to obtain a 2619.

(If you remember my story of perhaps the WORST ever non-purchase of a guitar going back to about 1994 give yourself a prize.)

Anyway, trying to make up for that horrendous decision to wait instead of jumping on the beautiful 1977 2619 (it sold to someone else for only $350 the next day - I found out a day after that when I went in to buy it) has been a depressing task. 13 years of looking but not finding a 2619. (The local guitar shops were NO help at all, and I didn't realize that ebay was a good option until last year...)

So now I've got the money, and I'm determined to find one come hell or high water! No getting sidetracked with good deals on AR305's or 2617BS's (which is what happened to me last year). This time I'm holding out for the guitar that I should have bought 13 years ago.

So basically all of that is a long winded way of saying, "If you've got a '77 or '78 2619 that you can bear to part with, or if you know of one for sale, please let me know. I would be very grateful."

Thanks!
