Here is another guitar that i don't have a price for. By looking at it, its a Gibson Dove, but it says ibanez concord. This my favorite acoustic,(and i got a few)for some reason we think it is a 74' but i don't remember how we came to that conclusion, the model # inside is 693. Can anyone help me with this?

have a concord 752 cant find out value as they have not seen one before. fantastic sound and soft action very playable. unusual bribge design so i have been told, black in colour, white pin striping, dual scratch pads excellent condition need rough estimation for insurance

I have an Ibanez Concord which I have owned since aprox. 1978. It is quite unusual with what appears to be mother-of-pearl inlay on the frets and in the "Ibanez" name at the top of the neck. The basic color is a deep mahogany with some lighter color in the body. Does anyone else have one similar or would know the aprox. value for insurance purposes? Also, I have the model number if needed.

I have a Model 656 Concord which I've owned since 1979 and need to know what it's worth - if you can help me with any info, including this mysterious "Dove" connection, I would appreciate it.

I have two Concords - a 6 and a 12 string.
1977 I believe. Both Black. Model 752.
Does anybody know anything about these guitars?
I'd appreciate seeing some design specs.

I've heard it is a dead copy of the famous Guild F-50 but can't confirm that.

I've owned a Concord 670-12 since it was new in 79. Figured maple sides and back,maple neck and finger board, spruce top, and gold hardware. I'm finally buying a 6 string to play, too, and can't find anything less than a Taylor 800 series to match the great sound of the Ibanez. I'm curious if the instrument has gained in any value or reputation since it was new.

I've got the J200 copy Concord pre serial number
Flame maple back and sides with Gibson "like" emblam on the head stock.
Superb wood and superb guitar.

I have an Ibanez 684e Acoustic electric. The guitar was made in Japan and has a pick up at the end of the fretboard. I would apprieciate any info on this model, the guitar is lovely and is well crafted and has a wonderful sound.

I just acquired a 77 Concord 699-12. I took it to a Luthier who said the bridge was lifting and he re-glued it. He said in a couple of years I might want to have the neck "bolted" on because he said Ibanez necks were not "dovetailed" but "dowelled" on. I think he's full of it but I don't know if he is right. Anyone knows about the necks on these guitars.

Incidentally, This is the most balanced 12-string I have ever heard, and I've played a lot of them.

The 670 was an upper middle guitar in a very crowded range. It featured Maple back and sides. a Rock Maple fret board and wood binding. They are a fine players instrument and still seriously undervalued today.

There is a thread on here somewhere in which I've described the models and where they sat in relation to each other but as a rough guide these were an AU$445 guitar when the entry level dreadnaught was priced at AU$305 (#627) and the top line dreadnaught was priced at AU$510 (#679). The slightly later #764 was AU$800 while the even later AW70 was the most expensive of the 6 strings produced at the time with a price tag of AU$950. Hardly surprising when it was a Solid Spruce top with Mahogany back/sides and neck.
This was evenually overtaken by the AU$3800 AW200 limited editions of which I've not ever seen one anywhere - would love to though!

I have a Concord Model 693 (sr: 750804) blonde acoustic "Dove copy". Apart from high end Schaller machine heads, it is original and I have owned it since new.

I just wondered if anyone has any information about this guitar, as I can't find a lot about this particular model, and it plays really sweet.

It has the fancy inlaid bridge with the flowing style inlaid dove sillouettes not the more conservative oval style bridge.

The 693 was a Spruce top, Rosewood back and sides Dreadnaught model that was the entry level for the Dove copies. Back in 76 they had an RRP of AU$385 compared to the later Dove (the 750) which was $595.

Recent sales have seen them fetching between US$190 (7.5) and US$390 (mint) on E-Bay.

the prices that you give in your list, is this the value the guitar had in the 70ies or whatever, or the price that is paid today for those models?

a good friend of mine has a black concord #752, without any serial no, only a tiny sticker "made in japan", and nothing else, no numbers or references or so.

how can we find out about the value of this guitar? my friend got it from his grandfather, who himself had gotten it about 40 years ago (he sais). can that be? some guys tell us the guitar had a value of several thousand us$... can that be too?

... about halfway down is a table that identifies E-Bay pricing for various model acoustics which might be of help.

As for the #752, that table shows a high of US$330 and the only sale since that table has been at US$260.

Bob, FYI, these were recent eBay auctions (which I lost). I finally bought a lovely 1982 Maple series M-310 with BIN, but that was after losing the Concords to snipers on eBay. I think that's a separate discussion...

Anyway, I still love this maple Concords.

I've got a Concorde 693-12 (which I've had for about 16 years) - don't know where the Serial# is hiding - don't know where the pickup's hiding either - but the lead connects through the tail-end strap button. It has a Gibson Dove type scratch plate and a fair amount of Mother of Pearl inlay........any info would be appreciated

Fendouglas, the 693/12 Concorde Series 12 string model did not come from the factory with a pickup in it.The only 2 models Ibanez made back then in the Concorde Series with a single coil exposed pole pickup which was placed at the end of the fingerboard were the 684E Hummingbird copy and the 698E J200 copy. These 2 models both had a volume and a tone control on the top or the soundboard as most people call it.
I would say that someone has added a pickup at some stage. See if there is a piezo pickup lying underneath the saddle on the bridge.

Captainibanez: Many thanks for the info on the Concord - I haven't yet checked under the bridge for the pickup but will do so when next changing strings - I did, however, find the Serial Number, which is B770768 (with what looks like a (red) stamped 'Z' in a red circle.

While on the subject can you offer any info on my other 'baby' which is a Lonestar LE300 - Serial Number: 86090005T.

I'm not really interested in selling either of these but an indication of value (£UK) for insurance purposes would be useful.

Just as a footnote - About 3 weeks ago I was looking for a 'cheapo' guitar to take & leave in my holiday apt in Turkey and came across a new SGT130E - this box (made in China) is absolutely fantastic! Onboard tuner and a tone to die for and all for £119!

I have a 74 Hummingbird copy..It says "specially made for Scandinavia" on the sticker inside. I got it cheap on ebay.de and changed the machineheads...Really easy to play and real purty on the eye...i just think the really heavy use of paint and laquer on it has reduced a lot of the resonance. From what I understand the natural "dove" copies around this time are totally tonally different beasts...Anyone ever (sacriledge!!) ever stripped a Hummingbird to Natural finish?

I will be back home late tonight & will get info on stands and post it tomorrow. They are great - the retaining 'arms' raise to horizontal when the bottom of the guitar rests on the 'feet' - then quick-release (down to vertical' when you raise the guitar.
